Are there any wise men left?

There is a huge list of creation myths. From Chinese creation myths to African creation myths. Every tribe with their distinct claim on how they came to be, for some reason i totally enjoyed one of the creation stories of the Edo people of Nigeria.

Their mystical story claim that when Osanobua (God Almighty) was creating the world, he also created kings who were to rule the various parts of the world. These kings before descending were asked to make their choice of whatever gifts they wanted God to endow them with. While others chose wealth, wisdom or magical powers, the King of Benin was instructed by a bird (parrot) to choose a snail.

However on arrival to the world they discovered that a deluge had occurred, and there was no ground to set their feet upon. The bird instructed the King of Benin to overturn the snail shell, where upon sand poured out of it to form the earth. Hence, the ownership of this land made Bini to be wealthy and powerful. His brothers who needed land desperately agreed that he should be their king. By account of this myth, Bini or Edo people forbid the eating of snail and the parrot is revered as a sacred animal used by powerful medicine men to predict the future.

Religion is the creation of man, and the attempt to understand every event that surrounds man's existence. This beliefs provide shape and meaning to one's perception of the universe. In other words they provide a sense of order in what might otherwise be seen as a chaotic existence.

The beginning of the biblical account of the creation story starts by telling us that the world was formless and without void and darkness covered the face of the deep. Evolutionist have tried to attack the credibility of creation science by claiming that any scientist who believes in the Bible is not a real scientist.

In all of these creation stories it is safe to say every man believes in the existence of something from nothing. Whatever mythology you associate your claim to.

This brings me to my question, Are there any wise men?

The world is changing and despite the fact that modernization has made life easier and better one can't deny the fact that it has changed how we think and act. Especially how we react to humans, structures and beliefs. After reading books, understanding people and life, to you being wise stops making sense anymore.

You start to wonder did the God of 1900 suddenly became a Gen-Z? Did he somehow start being lenient on religion and patterns? Infact what is the difference between spirituality and religousity? Does the God of the old testament who would kill a man at the spot for lying (Ananias and Sapphira) now condone deceit in his church?

When we try to make excuses for being spiritual or being "Christian" I think it's us being afraid to accept that they're certain patterns to association. It's us validating that we are double minded about sharing our thoughts and including God in the mix.

Trying to say that we are not religously minded shows they're limits to how we are ready to walk with God. In all of this doubt, it shows to me that they're truly no wise men left in the world.

I think that's what makes for life that we are confused and afraid and unsure and still creating patterns out of all of it.
